As a medical journals publisher, we are dedicated to advancing open scientific communication and building meaningful connections with the global research community. In the digital era, social media plays a vital role in how knowledge is shared, discussed, and discovered. To expand our outreach and enhance engagement with authors, readers, researchers, and institutions, we are seeking a skilled Social Media Manager to join our team. 

The ideal candidate is creative, strategic, and passionate about communication. In this role, you will manage our social media presence across multiple platforms, create engaging content, track performance metrics, and help increase visibility for our journals, newly published articles, calls for submissions, special issues, and editorial highlights. You will help shape how our brand is seen and how scientific information is accessed by a global audience.

About the Role

A Social Media Manager plays the key role of promoting academic content in a compelling and accessible way. You will plan, produce, and publish posts that highlight research updates, author achievements, journal news, and educational content. This position requires creativity, strong writing skills, and an understanding of how to communicate scholarly information to diverse audiences—including clinicians, researchers, students, and the public.

Main Responsibilities

Manage and grow our social media channels (e.g., LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube)
Create and schedule posts, visual content, banners, short videos, and promotional material
Promote newly published articles, special issues, and calls for paper submissions
Engage with authors, readers, and followers through comments, messaging, and outreach
Track analytics, generate performance reports, and optimize post strategies based on results
Brainstorm and execute digital campaigns to increase readership and manuscript submissions
Collaborate with editors, designers, and marketing staff to develop consistent messaging
Ensure alignment with journal branding, academic tone, and communication standards

Qualifications & Skills

Proven experience in social media management, digital marketing, or content creation
Strong writing ability and understanding of professional communication tone
Familiarity with graphic tools (e.g., Canva, Photoshop) and video editing is an asset
Knowledge of academic publishing, healthcare, or scientific topics preferred
Ability to analyze engagement data and refine strategy based on results
Organized, proactive, creative, and able to work with deadlines
